Southwell Minster - The Quire
Here we see the ornate and resplendant Southwell Minster quire. The original Norman quire was replaced with an Early English building in 1234 because it was far too small. The architectural details of the quire developed in response to its function as the place where the Divine Office was chanted by the monastic brotherhood or the chapter of canons.
